The olive trees

There are about 800 olive trees in our estate. Many trees are hundreds of years old. Six hundred trees (Moraiolo, Leccino, Pendolino and other pollinators) are in the southern side of the estate, in Valloni, near the village of Marcena (Arezzo). The remaining trees (monocultivar Moraiolo) are in Le Rancole, near Subbiano, in the northern side of the estate, at the foot of Casentino Valley. All the fields with olive trees are grassy. Pruning usually takes place in February, followed by fertilization, which is mainly organic. We treat the trees twice a year (in May and September).
